Education For All Generations
Education and Opportunity for Every Colorado Student
Education changed my life. I became a college graduate because of Pell Grants. That opportunity shaped every step of my future. As a CU Regent, I see every day how education lifts students, strengthens families, and fuels Colorado’s economy. In Congress, I will fight to make sure every student has the same chance to succeed that I had.
Protect Pell Grants and Strengthen Federal Support
Pell Grants opened the doors of higher education for me and for millions of students who are not born into wealth. I will protect Pell Grants and expand them so more Colorado families can send their children to college without fear of lifelong debt.
I will also protect and reinstate a strong Department of Education that stands with students, teachers, and families. Colorado deserves a federal partner committed to civil rights, public education, and real investment in our future workforce.
Make College Affordable
I support a national College for All plan that makes public four year colleges tuition free for families earning under $125,000 a year. That covers most households in Colorado. Community college should be free for everyone. Student loan borrowers should have access to lower interest rates and the ability to refinance. Education should be a pathway, not a burden.
Strengthen K through 12 Classrooms
Colorado classrooms need real investment. That includes special education services, arts and music programs, updated technology, and fair funding for Head Start. Every child deserves the foundation that prepares them to thrive.
Early Learning for Every Child
Universal preschool changes outcomes. When children can read at grade level and achieve math fluency by third grade, the path ahead becomes far brighter. I will support federal legislation to expand early learning access, especially for our most vulnerable families.
Respect Local Voices and Elevate Teachers
Schools succeed when parents, teachers, and administrators work together. Accountability should support collaboration, not punishment. We need affordable teacher training programs and higher teacher pay to attract and keep top talent in our classrooms.
Grow Colorado’s STEM and STEAM Workforce
Colorado’s future economy runs through science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. Every student should have pathways into these fields. I will champion programs that open doors for girls and under represented communities and connect students directly to real job opportunities across the state..
