Full Federal Legalization
I will champion legislation to remove cannabis from the Controlled Substances Act entirely. Not reschedule it. Not create additional administrative delays. Full legalization. PERIOD.
This is the only way to move forward with federal safety standards, interstate commerce, banking access, and national market stability. In Congress, I will work with reform-minded officials, veterans in both parties, and economic innovation committees to ensure legalization is implemented quickly, safely, and with strong public-health and consumer protections.
Reinvestment Into Community Affordability Initiatives
I will direct federal cannabis tax revenue toward affordability and community investment - not over-policing. This includes funding for affordable housing, mental-health services, childcare assistance, public-school improvements, and neighborhood economic development. This approach ensures that legalization becomes a tool to lift families, support working people, and rebuild ALL communities harmed by decades of discriminatory and wasteful enforcement.
A National Equity and Licensing Strategy
I will push for a federal equity framework that ensures communities disproportionately impacted by criminalization receive licensing priority, business development support, and access to federal grants and low-interest capital. I will advocate for federal equity metrics tied to community reinvestment, transparency requirements, and incentives for states to adopt fair licensing practices. This applies to all cannabis businesses and especially farmers. My legislation will establish a national cannabis office at the Department of Commerce to coordinate state and federal efforts.
Small-Business Protections and Interstate Commerce Standards
I will support a regulatory framework that prevents corporate consolidation from wiping out small operators and the pioneers who built this industry. I will fight for antitrust protections, federal loan access, and fair interstate commerce rules that allow small businesses to compete without being crushed by multinational interests. And I will push for clear federal packaging, testing, and transportation standards so entrepreneurs can scale responsibly across state lines.
Veterans Health Access and Federal Workforce Training
As a veteran, I will champion policies that allow veterans nationwide to access cannabis through VA physicians without fear of penalty or bureaucratic barriers. I will push for expanded federal research on PTSD, chronic pain, and opioid alternatives. I will also carry a bill to create federal training programs to prepare workers, especially veterans, for careers in cultivation, manufacturing, compliance, logistics, retail, and laboratory testing as the national market expands.
